Best way to grind levels early on? : PokemonInsurgence

Can’t seem to beat Xavier 2nd Gym I think the main problem is that my team isn’t leveled enough-but the highest level wild pokemon I can find are Lv 26 on Route 4 Any suggestons? I’m only up to the second gym and have to grind to get my pokemon to level 30+ and with me being used to speeding things up on an emulator I am really struggling to grind on level 23 ponyta’s getting 100xp a go and it taking 30+ seconds inbetween I have been relying on Delta Snorlax with belly drum and body slam up to now but with it being a bug/poison gym it gets rekt, I’m trying to grind

What sort of team should I use for the second gym

Somehow I got to the gym leader for the second gym with my Pokémon still being at level 26-ish except for one which I used to beat all the trainers on the way I used up all my money buying Pokeballs and I used up all my Pokeballs trying to catch Pokémon I’d like to know what Pokémon I should grind, since nothing in my PC is over level 23, I’ve caught all the Pokémon that I could find
